ACROPOLIS TELECOM deploys TELES.iSWITCH...
... to complete the first SSUTR2 / SIP interconnection with FRANCE TELECOM. TELES Communication Systems, a highly innovative European telecommunications infrastructure vendor, has successfully deployed its TELES.iSWITCH switching system to provide interconnectivity between ACROPOLIS TELECOM, an innovative VoIP operator providing IP Centrex services to SMEs in France, and the incumbent FRANCE TELECOM.
As VoIP services and IP Centrex solutions develop all over the world, TELES.iSWITCH is a competitive solution that enables VoIP operators to interconnect their networks to incumbents' SS7 networks and then provide portability services to their end users. Utilized as a full Class 4 switch, the TELES.iSWITCH interconnects ACROPOLIS TELECOM's external Class 5 Centrex IP Solution via SIP to France Telecom's SSUTR2/SIP. In addition, the TELES.iSWITCH VoIP LEX Class 5 solution is able to terminate SIP connections directly. This makes TELES.iSWITCH the first choice in enabling next generation operators to build seamless VoIP/TDM networks. Competitive scalability combined with the extensive "pay as you grow" licensing model allow the operator to focus on his commercial services and customers, whatever hardware size is needed or signaling protocol is used.
"TELES.iSWITCH is extremely easy to use, administrate and maintain," said Benoît VALLET, the technical director from ACROPOLIS TELECOM. "The uncomplicated adaptation of the TELES.iSWITCH for interconnectivity through SSUTR2, the National French signaling protocol, emphasizes the German vendor's commitment to growth and to providing the technological flexibility needed in a diverse European marketplace".
"To complete this interconnection", continued Benoît VALLET, "TELES and ACROPOLIS TELECOM developed a special SIP interworking to the complex France Telecom SSUTR2 signalling. This interface enables ACROPOLIS TELECOM's Class 5 IP Centrex platform to transfer additional information via the TELES.iSWITCH, which provides an SSUTR2 compliant frame towards the incumbent." With this architecture, the Class 5 resources (operator IP Centrex or TELES.iSWITCH VoIP LEX) are centralized on the operator's premises and the Class 4 switches are located as close as possible to the incumbent's interconnection points.
TELES.iSWITCH SS7 solutions form the basis of interconnectivity to many incumbent operators in numerous countries. TELES.iSWITCH VoIP solutions interconnect the operator's VoIP backbones and features on the same switch. The flexibility of TELES.iSWITCH signaling protocols is essential to help carriers expand their business into many other geographical locations. The powerful TELES.iSWITCH Least Cost Routing and market-leading call rerouting features offer further advantages where carriers will benefit in their daily telecommunications service operations.
Besides the successful TELES.iSWITCH, TELES delivers VoIP Gateways, SS7 Gateways, GSM Gateways and SIM Servers, and Least Cost Routers worldwide.
