Euroweb swaps existing Class 4 solution for TELES softswitch solution
Euroweb, one of Romania's leading service providers, has decided to ditch its legacy multi-vendor solution and replace it with a unified wholesale solution based on the C4 Softswitch from the Berlin based Next Generation Networks and Access Gateway vendor TELES.
Identifying TELES as a vendor for the required solution, Euroweb Romania selected TELES C4 softswitch in addition to the TELES Captura WTP (Wholesale Trading Platform), which makes life easier for operators with Least Cost Routing (LCR), customer prepaid control, and billing. The Captura WTP provides operators with the full spectrum of wholesale and retail functionality to improve and simplify business workflow and activities for supplier and customer. Functionality includes, for example, data import for destination mapping, multiple currency and billing increments, time zone definitions, full cost comparability, routing management, flexible account management, as well as complete commercial control for margin overview and identification of loss situations.
Euroweb's Technical Director, Gabriel Ionita, was quick to point out the reasons behind the change: "For our wholesale traffic we required a stable and reliable solution so that we can ensure that we continue to supply good quality service in addition to a high standard of VoIP quality. Our previous multi-vendor set-up was too much of a patchwork solution which made it very difficult for us to maintain QoS and guarantee stability to our customers. It quickly became clear to us that the TELES solution covered all of our requirements in a single package, providing all the relevant features and functions for the administration of our wholesale traffic. Beyond the functionality, the Captura WTP is saving us a fortune in operational costs thanks to its automatic routing, and has also increased our margins considerably because of its billing control."
André Barnitzke, TELES Product Line Manager NGN C4, feels that the deal represents a positive development for TELES in the region: "Our solution has helped to support Euroweb’s efforts to become a relevant international wholesale termination partner capable of providing high quality service and excellent rates to Romania. This opportunity also highlights the fact that TELES is continuing to expand its footprint in the region as a recognized vendor for a complete wholesale solution."
