backTELES Results 2007: Total results positive due to dividend distribution of freenet AG; Operating result of TELES still negative; Increase in revenues in the second half of the year
Ad-hoc Shareholders/Press Release according to § 15 WpHG
Although revenues in the continuing infrastructure business division TCS remained unchanged compared to the previous year. However, it should be emphasized that after a weak start in the first half of the year 2007 revenues significantly increased in the second half of the year and were the highest revenues within six months since more than two years. The total result amounted to +2.5 Mio€ due to the dividend distribution of freenet AG.
In addition, the result was burdened by further increased expenses for the enforcement of the strategically important VoIP patents of TELES as well as by increased losses in the continuing business division TCS (TCS= TELES Communication Systems). The losses result from the optimization of the sales structure and higher costs due to the enlargement of the product portfolio – amongst others through the acquisition of a smaller Israeli technology company – according to the growth expectation for the coming years.
The key data of TELES’ continuing operations for 2007 (in accordance with IFRS, audited) can be summarized as follows*:
- Revenues: 19.2 Mio€ (19.2 Mio€),
- Gross Profit: 9.6 Mio€ (11.5 Mio€, -16%),
- EBITDA: -12.0 Mio€ (-10.4 Mio€),
- EBIT: -12.9 Mio€ (-11.0 Mio€),
- EBT: 9.6 Mio€ (-8.1 Mio€)
(*prior year figures in brackets)
Attention is drawn to two further very important key figures:
- At 31st December 2007 − and thus after a dividend payment of € 2 per share, which corresponds to a total of 42.3 Mio€ − Cash (and cash equivalents) amounted to 7.6 Mio€ (previous year: 41.1 Mio€). Furthermore, TELES owns almost 3.6 million freenet shares and almost 2.2 million treasury stock.
- The equity ratio amounted to 83% as at 31st December 2007.
The complete and audited Annual Report 2007 will shortly be published on www.teles.de.
